Yam Putra is a compelling narrative that delves into the profound societal discrimination experienced by the Mahapatra community in India. \nThe second play ‘Shaista’\, is the story of a young girl’s defiance against the practice of selling young Muslim girls in marriage in Hyderabad and Shekhwati. Shaista is a compelling narrative that underscores the principles of women’s empowerment\, the transformative potential of digital technology\, and the fundamental constitutional rights of every individual. \nThe third play and final play is ‘Sultana’\, which is a story about the courage and social reforms within the color-dying community of Rajasthan. The play is a poignant and powerful portrayal of a young woman’s struggle for freedom and justice in the face of oppressive societal norms.  The play is not just a story about one woman’s struggle\, but a reflection of the more significant societal issues of gender inequality\, social pressure\, and the struggle for justice and freedom.

SUMMARY:Children’s Theatre Festival by NSD and Delhi Tourism
DESCRIPTION:A one-month-long intensive “Summer Theatre Workshop for children” is organized in May – June every year. The workshop aims at the social integration of children from various backgrounds to sensitize them towards themselves and their surroundings though theatre activities in a play way method. The workshop is divided into 4 weeks\, during which we explore Self\, Family\, Education\, and Society. This annual feature started with one centre at NSD and now its number has increased up to 8 centers located at various Schools of Delhi. 15 to 24 groups of 8 to 16 years of age are admitted every year. Each group consists of 30 children. Parents are also invited to participate in a special parent’s session during the workshop. The workshop culminates with a participatory event consisting of various themes\, activities\, and works – processes already explored by children during the workshop. The play is set in Rajasthan and tells the story of Sultana\, a young woman who is forced to marry her deceased sister’s husband\, Arif\, against her will. Sultana is only fifteen years old\, and Arif is much older than her. She feels trapped and alone until she seeks refuge in her school teacher\, Uma\, who had also suffered from social pressure in her life. \nTogether\, these two women fight against the oppressive norms of their society\, challenging the patriarchal system that denies women their rights and agency. Through their struggle\, they inspire others to question the status quo and demand change. \nThe play is not just a story about one woman’s struggle\, but a reflection of the larger societal issues of gender inequality\, social pressure\, and the struggle for justice and freedom. It is a powerful reminder of the ongoing fight for equality and human rights that we all face. \nWriter\, producer and director Rama Pandey said\, “Sultana is one of the most challenging plays that I have done .Dealing with the untouched subject of marrying young girls forcefully to their immediate relatives. Those men who have been widowed with children. Hindu and Muslims societies are still following this dark custom. The Rang Utsav embraces burning themes through theater and will be a new and unique experiment. The three-day Rang-Utsav organized by Rama Theater Natya Vidya Sanstha (RATNAV) will be organized from 1st September to 3rd September at Shri Ram Center in Mandi House. \nRama Pandey says\, ‘Ratnav Rang Utsav is my resolve in which I have tried to leave a deep impact on the audience by mixing together the rich colorful traditions of India.
