SUMMARY:KNMA Presents ‘Pata Dekhabo? (Shall I Show You a Pata?)’
DESCRIPTION:KNMA Presents ‘Pata Dekhabo? (Shall I Show You a Pata?)’ at the Art Passage\, Saket \nThe Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) has announced the opening of Pata Dekhabo? (Shall I Show You a Pata?)\, a fascinating exhibition that explores the rich storytelling traditions of scroll painting from eastern India. Hosted at the KNMA Art Passage\, the skybridge connecting Nexus Select CITYWALK and DLF South Court Mall in Saket\, the exhibition invites visitors to discover narratives that have travelled across generations through image\, performance\, and oral tradition. \nBringing together 46 reproductions from the KNMA Collection along with works sourced from institutions and public archives\, the exhibition showcases pattachitras from undivided Bengal and present-day Jharkhand spanning nearly three centuries. These scroll paintings offer a unique visual language that blends mythology\, folklore\, social commentary\, and everyday life into continuous narrative sequences. \nThe exhibition highlights two distinct scroll-painting traditions\, revealing how artists used unfolding painted scrolls to narrate stories frame by frame\, much like an early form of cinema. As visitors move through the exhibition\, they are encouraged to slow down\, observe the details\, and follow the progression of stories as they unfold across the length of the scrolls. \nBy bringing these works into a contemporary public space\, Pata Dekhabo? offers a rare opportunity to engage with a living storytelling tradition that continues to connect art\, memory\, community\, and cultural heritage. \nEvent Details \nExhibition: Pata Dekhabo? SUMMARY:In-Rhythm and Inheritors of Earth - Two New Exhibitions in Delhi
DESCRIPTION:In-Rhythm: Bice Lazzari & Nasreen Mohamedi and Inheritors of Earth at KNMA\, Saket\nThe Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) opens two new exhibitions in New Delhi on 9 September 2026\, bringing together distinct artistic practices that explore our relationship with the world around us. \nIn-Rhythm: Bice Lazzari and Nasreen Mohamedi\nPresented in partnership with the Italian Embassy Cultural Centre in New Delhi and Archivio Bice Lazzari\, In-Rhythm brings together the works of Italian artist Bice Lazzari (1900–1981) and Indian artist Nasreen Mohamedi (1937–1990). \n \nCurated by Andrea Anastasio\, Director\, Italian Cultural Institute in New Delhi\, and Roobina Karode\, Artistic Director and Chief Curator\, KNMA\, with assistance from Neha ‘Zooni’ Tickoo\, Curator\, KNMA\, the exhibition explores the striking parallels between two artists who never met or\, as far as records indicate\, encountered each other’s work. \nAcross the 1960s\, 1970s and early 1980s\, both artists developed distinctive approaches to line\, repetition\, geometry and restraint. Lazzari gradually moved towards lines\, grids and subtle fields of colour\, while Mohamedi developed an increasingly precise language of pencil\, ink and geometric abstraction. The exhibition brings their practices into a direct visual dialogue\, while considering the relationship between artistic discipline and the body. \nInheritors of Earth\nCurated by Premjish Achari\, Inheritors of Earth looks at plant life not simply as a backdrop to human existence\, but as a parallel and entangled world with its own rhythms\, histories and forms of resilience. Bringing together paintings\, photographs\, drawings\, videos and installations\, the exhibition explores themes of growth and decay\, rootedness and migration\, memory and ecological change. \n \nTogether\, the works encourage audiences to look with plants rather than merely at them\, opening up questions around coexistence\, humility and our shared inheritance. \nExhibition Details\nExhibitions: In-Rhythm: Bice Lazzari and Nasreen Mohamedi & Inheritors of Earth\nOpen to Public: 9 September – 22 December 2026\nVenue: KNMA\, Saket\, New Delhi\nTimings: 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM\nClosed: Mondays and all national holidays\nAdmission: Free \nLocation Map:

SUMMARY:The Still Life of Sentiments: Contemporary Art & Design Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:GAP Contemporary presents The Still Life of Sentiments\, a new exhibition curated by Priyanshi S\, marking the gallery’s new chapter following its transformation from Gallery Art Positive to GAP Contemporary. \nThe exhibition transforms the gallery’s 5\,000 sq. ft. space into a series of domestic environments – including a living room\, study and anti-room – bringing together contemporary art\, furniture\, objects\, books and design. Rather than presenting works within a conventional white-cube setting\, the exhibition explores how art can exist as part of the spaces and objects that surround us in everyday life. \nThe showcase brings together artists and design practices across disciplines and generations. Artists include Bashobi Tiwari\, Boito\, Enii Living\, Meghna Patpatia Singh\, Poorvi Sultania\, Pranshu Thakore\, Protyush Paul\, Suryan Saurabh\, Urvi Sethna and Vikalp Durga Mishra\, among others. \nThe design component features studios including Hatsu\, Objectry\, Phantom Hands\, This and That\, Turn Black Official\, Umber Furniture\, Vahe and Vakr Studio\, alongside object and lighting practices such as Fig Living\, Kathakaar Studio\, Dhruv Agarwwal and Clay Ventures. \nA distinctive aspect of the exhibition is its dynamism. The exhibition will continue to evolve during its run\, with works being added\, removed or altered as pieces find new homes or make way for something else. Visitors may therefore encounter something different on each visit. \nThe exhibition marks the first presentation under the new identity of GAP Contemporary\, which has evolved from Gallery Art Positive\, founded by Anu Bajaj in 2005. The gallery’s expanded focus will continue to engage with art and collectors while also exploring design\, culture\, wellness and contemporary living. \nEvent Details\nExhibition: The Still Life of Sentiments\nCurated by: Priyanshi S\nDates: 11 September – 10 October 2026\nTimings: Monday – Saturday | 11 AM – 6:30 PM\nVenue: GAP Contemporary\, F-213B\, Old M.B. SUMMARY:Masters in Making – Threads of Continuum: Reweaving the Future of Heritage
DESCRIPTION:Burgoyne Original Masters (BOM) presents its inaugural grant initiative\, Masters in Making – Threads of Continuum: Reweaving the Future of Heritage\, culminating in an exhibition at Alliance Française de Delhi from 1 to 10 October 2026. \nCurated by Anjchita B. Nair\, the exhibition brings together 20 artists\, artisans\, craft-led brands and collectives from across India\, exploring how India’s textile traditions can evolve while remaining connected to the knowledge\, communities and cultural histories from which they emerge. The initiative began with a nationwide open call that received over 180 applications. An expert jury comprising Dr Madan Meena\, Hema Shroff Patel\, Dr Vandana Bhandari and Sreyansi Singh shortlisted 20 participants\, including five grant recipients: Jagrity Phukan\, Porgai Artisans Association\, Dinesh Chhipa\, Dhaiyda Jitendra and Kanmai Payun. \nAt the heart of Threads of Continuum is the idea of textile as something that remembers — carrying traces of hands\, labour\, inherited knowledge and community histories. The exhibition looks at heritage not as something fixed in the past\, but as a living practice that continues to adapt to changing social\, ecological and cultural contexts. The five grant recipients bring several traditional and increasingly rare practices into this conversation. Jagrity Phukan traces Muga\, Eri and Mulberry silk traditions of the Brahmaputra Valley\, while Kanmai Payun works with Fulor Saneki and Gadu earth-loom weaving from Majuli. Dhaiyda Jitendra engages with the centuries-old Tangaliya weaving tradition of Kutch\, while Dinesh Chhipa returns to the complete traditional process of Bagru hand block printing\, including the increasingly rare Fadat technique. \nThe Porgai Artisans Association\, a collective of 80 women artisans from Tamil Nadu’s Sittilingi Valley\, presents Lambadi embroidery — a tradition revived from near-extinction and closely connected with the livelihoods and dignity of its practitioners. Alongside the five grant recipients\, the exhibition features works by Pooja Dhingra\, Jayati Kaushik\, Juhi Sharma\, Archita Bharadwaj\, Geeta Rabari\, Malvika Kaushik\, Kalyani Prasad\, Upraant Foundation\, Kamala Murali\, Stuti Kumar\, Medha Khosla\, Indigene Craft\, Diti Mistry\, Pankaj Kondewar and Mili Mandal. \nBringing together practices from different regions and generations\, Masters in Making creates a dialogue between traditional knowledge and contemporary practice\, showing how continuity can be about adaptation rather than repetition. \nExhibition Details\nTitle: Masters in Making – Threads of Continuum: Reweaving the Future of Heritage\nPresented by: Burgoyne Original Masters (BOM)\nCurator: Anjchita B.
