SUMMARY:Whispered Continuum by Smriti Dixit – Solo Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Art Alive Gallery\, New Delhi presents Whispered Continuum\, a powerful solo exhibition by acclaimed contemporary artist Smriti Dixit\, opening with a preview on 28 November 2025. On view till 5 January 2026\, the show marks Dixit’s much-anticipated return to Delhi after nearly two decades. \nIn Whispered Continuum\, Dixit draws from the natural landscapes and coastal vegetation around her home in suburban Mumbai. Creepers\, palms\, and shifting waters become metaphors for resilience\, transition\, and the quiet\, cyclical rhythms of nature. Through sculptural installations created with coiled\, woven\, and stitched fabric—often combined with found materials—she captures the interplay between growth\, decay\, renewal\, and memory. \nWorking with a predominantly monochromatic palette enriched by vivid reds\, Dixit continues her exploration of textile as a living\, breathing medium. Evolving since 1995\, her practice is both meditative and transformative\, revealing the deep emotional continuum that connects material\, process\, and personal experience. \nWhispered Continuum reaffirms her pioneering position in contemporary textile-based art and invites viewers to reflect on the intimate relationships between nature\, time\, and the human condition. \nOn View: 29 November 2025 – 5 January 2026Venue: Art Alive Gallery\, S-221 Panchsheel Park\, New DelhiTimings: Monday to Saturday\, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM

SUMMARY:Phool Walon Ki Sair 2025
DESCRIPTION:Every autumn\, Delhi blooms with colours\, fragrance\, and faith as Phool Walon Ki Sair—the Festival of Flowers—returns to celebrate centuries of communal harmony and cultural unity. \nOriginating in 1812 during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar Shah II\, the festival was born out of gratitude for a wish fulfilled at the dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Bakhtiyar Kaki. Over two centuries later\, this historic celebration continues to embody Delhi’s spirit of inclusivity\, tradition\, and peace. \nAbout the Festival\nPhool Walon Ki Sair\, meaning “Procession of the Florists\,” is a unique spectacle where Hindu and Muslim communities come together in a shared expression of devotion and joy. The highlight is a grand procession through Mehrauli\, featuring flower-sellers\, dancers\, musicians\, and artisans carrying floral pankhas (fans) and chhatras (canopies). \nThe journey culminates in offering flowers at two sacred sites — the Yogmaya Temple and the Dargah of Khwaja Bakhtiyar Kaki — representing the harmony between faiths that has defined Delhi’s soul for centuries. \nWhat to Expect\nVisitors can witness a dazzling blend of tradition and festivity\, including: \n\nVibrant flower processions winding through Mehrauli’s historic streets\nQawwali and classical music performances echoing through the evening air\nKathak dance recitals\, wrestling matches\, and kite flying contests\nLocal fairs\, crafts\, and traditional Delhi food stalls at Jahaz Mahal lawns\n\nThe event not only honours Delhi’s Mughal-era heritage but also serves as a living example of India’s pluralism and unity in diversity. \nWhy You Should Attend\nPhool Walon Ki Sair isn’t just a festival—it’s an experience that brings history\, spirituality\, and artistry to life. It’s where ancient rituals meet contemporary celebration\, and where the fragrance of flowers becomes a symbol of peace. \nEvent Details\n\nDates: 2nd – 8th November 2025\nTime: Main processions and cultural programs in the evenings\nVenue: Mehrauli\, New Delhi (Yogmaya Temple\, Khwaja Bakhtiyar Kaki Dargah\, Jahaz Mahal lawns & nearby heritage sites)
