The Festival will begin by hosting a mesmerising Opening Reception with a soulful evening performance by the Singapore-based Hindustani classical vocalist Sveta Kilpady. Kilpady will present some of Kabir’s dohas in an amalgamation of popular and new compositions\, bringing out the essence of Kabir’s poetry. The evening will be opening by a melodic performance by Ridhima from Sunbeam School. \nAs always\, days at the Mahindra Kabira Festival will begin with an invigorating and soulful Morning Music Programme. This year\, the festival will feature Sandeep Singh traditional Raagi (Sikh devotional singer) and an A-grade artist of All India Radio & Doordarshan\, who will be showcasing his instrument Taus; The taus\, originally known as the Mayuri Veena\, is a bowed string instrument from North India. It is a form of the Veena with a characteristic peacock-shaped resonator called a Mayuri\, and is played with the neck of the instrument on bow. Singh accompanied by Avirbhav Verma on the tabla; Bhuvnesh Komkali\, grandson of the legendary Pt. DESCRIPTION:This season will feature poet\, writer\, and scholar Akhil Katyal who will be in conversation with poet and writer Aditi Rao on ‘What (in the world) in Queer Poetry?’ \nThe session will be held on Saturday\, 9th December 2023 at 3 p.m. at the Mughal Pavilion\, Sunder Nursery\, New Delhi.  \nWe expect the duration of the event to be approximately an hour\, with the conversation followed by a Q&A with the audience\, and finally\, a book signing session. \nPLEASE NOTE: \n\nTo register for the event\, please fill out the form here: https://forms.gle/PhtxRHFdBx2oa9xd6\nThe event is free for everyone to attend; however\, please note that the regular entry fee to Sunder Nursery will apply.\nSunder Nursery has air purifier units installed throughout the premises\, making it one of the spaces with the cleanest air in the city. SUMMARY:Echoes of Unfathomed Worlds
DESCRIPTION:Echoes of Unfathomed Worlds solo art exhibition by Delhi-based artist Jagannath Panda\n \nJagannath Panda’s artistic journey has seen significant milestones\, including his last solo exhibition Crystal Cities in 2017 at Vadehra Art Gallery in New Delhi\, and Trance Land at London’s Halcyon Gallery in 2015. His works have gained widespread recognition across South Asia\, Europe\, and parts of America. With 26 works across scales and intent on view\, Panda’s presentation is an amalgamation of materiality and techniques that expound on diverse subjective areas\, including philosophical purviews\, architectural detailing\, perceptive impressions of his natural surroundings as well as personal memories – all enmeshed in the grand expression of a cosmos. \nThe exhibition is accompanied by a literary note written by the curator\, writer\, and filmmaker Premjish Achari. To quote from Achari’s essay: “His [Panda’s] works are a defiant challenge to the very boundaries of reality\, pushing us beyond our preconceived limits…stirring up profound depths within our consciousness…Here\, the universe is not a far-reaching theory\, but a living sensation that envelops us.
