Exploring Unique Spots of Uttarakhand with Thrillophilia

Dec 13, 2024 | Travel

After a year-long work period in Hyderabad, my friends and I were thinking about where to travel next. We craved an escape from the daily grind of the city and to satisfy the thrill seeker in us.

Several destinations came up, but Uttarakhand stood out as we had never travelled there before and wanted to witness its spiritual charm and natural beauty. With tall Himalayan peaks, sacred rivers, and temples, it seemed like the perfect balance between exciting activities and peaceful retreats.

After going through numerous Uttarakhand trip reviews online, we decided to go with Thrillophilia for our journey. And, we are glad we chose them. Their itineraries covered everything we were looking for, and the reviews highly spoke of their customer service. We opted for a customised 4-day 3-night Uttarakhand package as we wanted to include some lesser-known destinations along with the must-visit spots like Rishikesh and Haridwar.

A Change for the Better

Before our trip could start, there was a last-minute change in the itinerary, thanks to Parth from the Thrillophilia team, who suggested we include a trek to Tungnath Temple. This spontaneous change added a fantastic adventure to our trip. Since it is one of the Pancha Kedars, the trek to Tungnath was a challenging yet exhilarating experience, with stunning views of the Garhwal Himalayas.

On our way, we stopped at Ukhimath. Our guide told us that this was also the place where Lord Krishna’s grandson, Aniruddha, married Usha, the daughter of Banasur. It made me feel deeply connected to the history of our country. When we reached the top, we were mesmerised to see the snow-covered peaks surrounding us. It was indeed magical!

Not to forget, the thoughtful recommendations and flexibility the team showed throughout our journey deserve a special mention in this Thrillophilia Uttarakhand trip review. They ensured that even with changes, every moment felt perfectly planned.

The Spiritual Heaven

We also visited the spiritual towns of Rishikesh and Haridwar. Here, we saw a powerful and moving experience of the Ganga Aarti. The sight of hundreds of devotees offering prayers to the river, with the flickering oil lamps illuminating the Ganges, was something I will never forget in my life. We also had the opportunity to take a holy dip in the river, which felt refreshing and spiritually purifying.

Moving forward, we visited the Chandi Devi and Manasa Devi temples. The cable car ride to Chandi Devi offered spectacular views of Haridwar and the temple itself on top of the Neel Parvat. Even the Manasa Devi temple provided panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains.

This Thrillophilia Uttarakhand trip review would not be complete without mentioning our stays in Rishikesh and Haridwar which offered breathtaking views, especially with its location on the riverbank. Here, we also enjoyed splashing around in the river and admired the snow-capped mountains and the lifestyle of the local people.

The next day, while it was time for us to leave, we were going back with lots of memories of Uttarakhand.
