Stepping into Seven Seas, Rohini for their “Food Bazaars of India” food festival felt like embarking on a grand culinary tour across India. This luxury buffet had it all – from a traditional Kerala Onam Sadhya to piping hot momos from the North East. It was a unique blend of flavors and cultures, served in a vibrant, festive setting.

Kerala’s Onam Sadhya: A Temple of Flavors
We were particularly fascinated by the Onam Sadhya station, which was designed to resemble a South Indian temple. The traditional banana leaf served meal included everything from avial to payasam, staying true to the authentic flavors of Kerala. This was our first time experiencing an Onam Sadhya as part of a buffet, and it was nothing short of spectacular.
A Feast of Indian Delicacies
Street Food Extravaganza
Street food lovers, rejoice! The festival had Dilli and Benaras ki chaat served in traditional pattal (leaf bowls), crispy hot tikkis, and bheega kulcha from Old Delhi. The Bhel poori made at the khomcha (street cart) was a hit among the kids, who were seen running around savoring their favorite snacks.
Regional Specialties
- Northeast India: Steaming hot momos.
- Kolkata: Tangy and spicy phuchka.
- Rajasthan: Rich gatta curry and delectable ghewar.
- Bihar: Flavorful litti chokha.
- Goa: Sweet and creamy bibinka.
- Karnataka: Melt-in-your-mouth Mysore pak.
Desserts Galore
The dessert section was like a vibrant map of India, featuring delicacies like Mysore pak, ghewar, and bibinka. The kulfi station, offering tille wali kulfi and falooda kulfi, was a favorite among kids and adults alike.
Refreshing Beverages
The beverage counter offered a variety of refreshing coolers and the iconic banta wali bottle. We ended our dinner with cutting chai and malai toast from the Kona Dukan tea stall, a perfect way to wrap up a delightful evening.
Live Music
Adding to the charm was live music, with a sitarist and percussionist performing instrumental versions of Bollywood classics. It was a delightful blend of taste and tunes that made the evening even more enjoyable.
Fun for the Whole Family
The overall atmosphere at Seven Seas was reminiscent of an Indian baraat, full of color, vibrancy, and a sense of community. Families and groups of friends were seen having a gala time, enjoying the vast variety of food and the lively ambiance.
