Fresco had always been very inviting because of its word of mouth publicity and authentic Italian food. We had dinner there. While its buffets are much discussed, we skipped this and went a la cart.
To start, we ordered the day’s special soup and lime grilled chicken salad (fresh watermelon, Greek feta cheese, mint and chili). The soup was an orangish clear broth with thyme leaves and prawns. The taste was a little tangy but the seasoning stirred our appetite and we loved the small but juicy prawns.
The salad was a treat for eyes as well as tongue. It was an odd but awesome combination of roasted chicken, somewhat spicy, served with sweetened lettuce and slices of fresh watermelon. We could never imagine that watermelon could be such a great accessory with chicken.
For main course we ordered Affumicato (chef recommended pasta) which is a chicken spaghetti cooked with mushrooms in tomato sauce and seasoned with garlic and. It tasted of freshly grated tomatoes, but was not tangy, rather full but not heavy on the tongue.
The main course totally satiated our appetite. For rituals we ordered Tiramisu for dessert. It was like any other Tiramisu but low on sweetness.
The ambiance was a combination of white and green. The decor was soft and surroundings peaceful. We would definitely comeback.
