Simple uncluttered decor, bright lights that don’t hurt the eyes and spaced out tables. These good vibes greeted us when we entered Honey & Dough, a dessert outlet at Def Col. The staff is hospitable and they took us through the menu. Pastries, croissants, sandwiches, pastas – this is a cafe but one can make a dinner out here as well.
Their chocolates looked awesome and would work for people who like sugar. The fun designs and cartoon characters might work well for a kid’s birthday party. But among the things that worked for us was their fluffy almond croissant that went well with coffee. The praline crunch was subtle and crunchy. The angelinas were fluffy and tasty. We loved the chocolate sea salt tart the best. The flavours, more so, the salt-bitter-sweet-cocoaish taste in this item was unique. We also tried their plain muffins that were a little flat. Apple crumble muffins were nice though.
Among savouries we had barbeque chicken pizza and sheekh kabab roll. The kebab roll was unexpectedly spicy and too hard for a roll but we liked the pizza. That filled us up. They were out of sandwiches. We shall come back here for trying their sandwiches sometime.
Meanwhile Honey & Dough shows promise and their bakery is totally worth the calories.
