Summers are brutal in Delhi NCR and people are doing whatever they can to avoid the heat. Some head to the mountains, others take to the air conditioned malls. What do foodies do to beat the heat? They drown their summer woes in an ice cream tub. We also rushed to this ice cream parlour in Rohini, Icy Fusion when we noticed its presence in this small shopping complex Aggarwal E Mall.

Icy Fusion is a chain of Ice Cream parlours from Kolkata and the one in Rohini is their first outlet in Delhi. It’s a small parlor with space for 3-4 people to sit. They serve creation ice creams prepared on cold stone. The process of making these ice creams is pretty interesting. They beat the ice cream on the cold stone with a spatula and mix it with various things like Kit Kat, Gems, Jujubes, white chocolate chips and what not, based on the flavour you have chosen.

The Varieties of Ice Creams

The menu is divided into fruits, chocolates, nuts and kids based sections. We tried Fruit Overload and Nutella Ferrero to begin with. They serve it in a waffle cone that is placed inside a disposable cup. Both the ice creams looked smashing. The ice creams tasted nice but not outstanding as we expected from the look, maybe because we generally don’t like too much embellishment on our food. Perhaps folks who love a lot of goodies on their ice creams might love this.

We couldn’t resist taking an ice cream from the kids section. Candy Crush Saga had been an addictive mobile game for us and for months and we were hooked on to it badly. We had to taste this ice cream when we saw they have named one on this mobile game. A combined vanilla and strawberry ice cream decorated with Gems, Jujubes, coco chips and flavored wafer sticks, this one is a kids dream come true. We think the colour was a little too pink and gave it slightly synthetic look but can imagine kids going crazy for this one. Interesting concept if you are bored of plain branded ice cream cups.

What didn’t work

We took a Dry Fruit Delight shake on the staff’s recommendation but we left it after the first sip as it tasted like there was something wrong with it. Also they switched on the AC only when they have customers, this makes it a little stuffy to sit inside.

Why you should try

They are open till late in the night and they deliver as well. The menu also has some introductory offer on a few varieties.
