Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan is a much-awaited event on the Delhi calendar. Not only Delhites but businesses from all across the country and even overseas look out for this event.

Trade Fair 2020 did not take place and many of us were heartbroken. We were somewhat apprehensive about the Trade Fair this year too. why visit IITF 2021

Top reasons to visit IITF 2021

  • Trade Fair Delhi is a celebration of all things Indian. Starting from small-scale units and cottage industries, cooperative weavers to agricultural tools and even military equipment, every item is on display here.
  • Except for the foreign participation, all things that are available at the Trade Fair are manufactured in India. Hence, it is a moment of pride for us Indians and a glimpse into our capabilities.
  • The Delhi winter is showing promise. These are ideal days to be out. Hence, a visit to the Trade Fair is like making the most of it.
  • The state-wise stalls at the trade fair show the diversity of our country. But all these stalls come together to make the event vibrant and festive – like mini India in Delhi.
  • Trade fair is a perfect place to try and buy food items from various states in one place. We love buying Uttarakhand’s Baal mithai, Kashmir’s Kahwa, and Kerala’s fruit Halwa from the trade fair.
  • Trade fair is a great place to check out new innovative products. We have seen geysers that don’t use electricity to nifty time-saving vegetable choppers being displayed here. The fair gives visibility to such small initiatives and is a perfect B2B opportunity to connect and reach out to investors and buyers.

Things to buy at Trade Fair 2021

Starting from army gear to furniture glass to clothes, packaged as well as cooked food items, household gadgets, and handicrafts, Trade Fair has it all and sometimes at amazing discounts. Given that the Trade Fair takes place at the onset of winter, we see a wide collection of winter wear like shawls, stoles, scarves, and jackets. Many visitors carry trolley carts and suitcases to bring home their booty and these pieces of luggage get filled very soon. The only items that we have not seen a lot at the Trade Fair are books. That is probably because the government organizes two standalone book fairs every year – the Delhi Book Fair and the New Delhi World Book Fair.

Closing Notes on Trade Fair 2021

Trade Fair 2021 is being held with some caution in terms of crowd management. Apparently, a maximum number of 30,000 visitors would be allowed to visit the fair on a single day. The sale of tickets would be stopped once the number of visitors is reached. Hence, in case you choose to visit the Trade Fair, you should consider starting early.

Weekends are always a lot more crowded than weekdays. Thus, if possible, try to visit the Trade Fair on a weekday.

If you are visiting the Trade Fair, do not drop your guard. Wear masks at all times and carry sanitisers.
