Venue: Delhi University – GTB Nagar

GTB Nagar near Delhi University boasts of some of the most pocket friendly eating joints in town. Not just pocket friendly, their food and service is at par with some of the better known restaurants in Delhi. Ask any college student in this area and they swear by Ricos and The Hudson Cafe – places they have been to on dates and birthday celebrations.
Fighting the popularity of these joints are some more cafes in this area that are surely making their mark because of interesting themes or good food and service. Indus Flavour in GTB Nagar is famous for being a totally vegetarian restaurant.
After a short evening excursion at Naini Lake, we went to Indus Flavour for an early dinner. They take your order on a tab where the menu and prices are pre-loaded and one can decide and add to cart like an e-commerce website.
Complimentary aam panna shots were delicious. We ordered their highly recommended Dahi ke Sholey and Malia Tandoori Momos to start with. Dahi ke Sholey totally disappointed us. Somehow the Dahi was not right and it tasted weird. Maybe it’s the warm humid weather or what, this dish was rotten. Malai Tandoori Momos were nice and fresh.
The fried rice and manchurian and dal indus and Naan were very good. Some of the condiments like flavored mayo were so good, we kept having it with almost all dishes.
Initially they took long to serve but once they served our starters they picked pace and within no time we were done with our lunch. Also we loved the fresh mint leaves infused water they served.
It’s a great place for vegetarians. Vegetarians who don’t mind onion garlic and vegetarians who go for Jain food which is devoid of onion garlic. And it goes without saying that just like other restaurants in this area this one is also pocket friendly.
