Venue: MG Road
Kashmiri Kitchen on MG Road has no dedicated parking facilities. Plus we could only spot three tables for diners.
But if one can overcome logistics issues like above, the food is a delight. We ordered “Kokur Yakhni” – succulent chicken pieces cooked in a light gravy of curd with an added aroma of saffron, pepper and other Kashmiri seasoning. The dish was very simple and low on spices. Along with that we ordered tandoori roti that they procured from outside.
On the side we had Kahwa – The-Oh-So-Famous Kashmiri tea. This was mildly sweet, fragrant with cardamom, saffron and had almond slivers floating in it. A little piece of heaven.
For dessert we had “Zafran Phirin” ( firni ) – A rice pudding, cooked, smelt and tasted just perfect. A delightful end to a rich but guiltless Indian dinner…
and yes they do play some Kashmiri music too (But I wonder why on a computer?????).
