Delhiites love their kebabs and tikkas and know a great Biryani from a regular one. There is no dearth of Mughlai Cuisine places in Delhi. Every nook and corner has some famous kebab joint and their die hard patrons. We recently received a Kebab Gali food voucher from Zomato and visited this place to redeem it.

It’s a very small joint in relatively lesser known Vasant Square Mall at Vasant Kunj. They have some dining space but one can make out they mostly survive on takeaways and delivery. We reached early and had no problem in getting a table. Decor is very simple and nothing much to talk about.

We ordered Dahi Kebabs, Chicken Tikka Kali Mirch and Chicken Biryani. Dahi Kebabs were yum and a little unusual with some khus seeds coating on top. It’s a must try dish at Kebab Gali – delicate and delicious.

Chicken Tikka Kali Mirch was well cooked but too spicy for us to handle. We left it after having a bite or two. We remember asking them if it’s too hot and they said its mildly spicy but we guess the term “spicy” is very subjective in Delhi.

Hara Bhara kebab that came complimentary as part of their deal of the day was also good but heavy and it totally filled us up. We regretted having this dish as the Biryani was already served. This place is known for its Biryani and is also featured in Biyani places list of zomato. Though not really outstanding, their Biryani was decent. We found it a little hot too and had to balance the heat with Raita.

However, they were not forthcoming in accepting the voucher and charged us extra for Hara Bhara Kebab that was supposed to come complimentary in their deal of the day.

All in all it was a mixed experience and one can visit or order from Kebab Gali for pocket friendly Mughlai food. Though – spice alert!
