London Street Kitchen is your neighborhood take away / home delivery / serve-in-the-car food joint in West Delhi. Located on Shankar Road, they have an extensive menu and we tried quite a few things from that.

For Meat Lovers

Butter chicken, Lapta chicken, Seekh kebabs or Hari mirch tikka, everything was top notch and can put many a star rated restaurants to shame. Good quality meat, flavourful ingredients and not relying on mirchi at all (contrast to most places in Delhi NCR) made their regular dishes unique. Their Chicken biryani is another example of that. It is tough to find biryani in Delhi that doesn’t burn your mouth with chilli. Unlike the typical Hyderabadi spicy variety, their biryani was mild in spices and high in taste and flavor. This biryani can be the sole reason for us to reorder from LSK.

The mutton in Mutton biryani was well cooked and finger licking good. From their British Asian menu we loved their Chicken Tikka Masala. This is the kind of stuff that made Indian Cuisine popular abroad. Their breads also compliment the dishes they serve. Garlic Naan and stuffed naan went well with Mutton Rara and Butter Chicken.

For Vegetarians

Though their menu is carnivore’s delight they have many items for vegetarians as well. We had their Dal makhani, Shahi paneer, Soy chops and Lehsuni Paneer tikka. Soy chops – absolutely brilliant. Dal makhani and shahi paneer were good though a little less butter and cream would have made it outstanding. But the fact is there was so much happening on our plates and all the dishes were outshining each other that it was tough for dal and paneer to beat the chicken and mutton 🙂

London Street Kitchen call themselves “Food Factory” but their stuff is far from run-of-the-mill. The food they delivered was way better than we ever expect from a small take away and delivery place.
