Delhi is a paradise for food lovers, especially for vegetarians. With new eateries popping up around every corner, it’s always exciting to find a place that surprises you. One such hidden gem is Mysore Cafe, located in the South Avenue Lane Market, close to Raisina Hills. This quaint, one-room cafe is easy to miss, but once inside, it transports you to a different era.
The café has a charming, old-school vibe with bench-like seats, simple wooden tables, and a menu board hanging on the wall. The decor feels like something straight out of Malgudi Days, adding to the nostalgia.

A Simple Yet Satisfying Menu
The menu at Mysore Cafe is simple, but the flavors speak volumes. We started with the Masala Dosa, Tomato Uttapam, and their renowned filter coffee.
- Masala Dosa: Crispy, with a perfectly spiced potato filling, this dosa was a treat to savor.
- Tomato Uttapam: Well-cooked and topped with fresh tomatoes, it hits all the right notes for a wholesome meal.
- Filter Coffee: The coffee was strong, aromatic, and had just the right amount of milk, making it the perfect pick-me-up. We loved it so much, that we ordered a second round!
While the Mysore Paak and Sweet Matthi (both highly recommended online) didn’t live up to our expectations—the former was dry, and the latter a bit soggy—what left the sweetest impression was the affordable bill. Our lunch for two cost less than ₹200, a rare find in the heart of Delhi!
Old-World Charm in the Heart of Delhi
Mysore Cafe offers a unique dining experience, bringing a touch of South Indian simplicity to bustling Delhi. The charming ambiance, combined with the no-frills, flavorful food, is what makes this cafe special. While some items might not have been perfect, the dosa, uttapam, and coffee were more than enough to win us over.
We can’t wait to return to Mysore Cafe for another satisfying meal. If you’re looking for a taste of authentic South Indian food at an unbeatable price, Mysore Cafe should be on your list!
