Navratri is an auspicious Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Durga. Nine forms of Goddesses Maa Durga – Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skanda Mata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Maha Gauri and Siddhidatri are worshiped in these days by devotees.
Most of us have fond memories of mother frying ‘kuttu ki pakoris or pooris’ during navratri as we would sit home and salivate. While nothing can compare to food mother makes, the chefs of the finest restaurants have created new age options including buckwheat dishes, fancy desserts and lip smacking vrat friendly beverages.
Various restaurants across Delhi-NCR revamp their menus and make delicious vegetarian additions to cater to the appetite of food enthusiasts during the nine-day Navratri festival.
The pubs and bars of-course suffer a dip in sales as most customers abstain from alcohol over the nine days. This time around vegetarianism prevails and even at home dishes are made using Sabudana, buckwheat primarily. We have compiled a quick list for our readers to some of the restaurants serving special navratra menu in the capital.
