Gurgaon is the hub of new restaurants, food deliveries, meals on subscriptions, cafes, pubs, bars and nightlife. “Raise the bar” is the new addition to Gurgaon’s night life. We attended the launch party on a recent Friday evening. This rooftop bar and lounge is part of Clarence Hotel in Sector 29.

As soon as we stepped on the rooftop we realised the USP of the bar is it’s stunning view. Though hazy in the night because of early winter smog , we could still make out that this 360 degree panorama is probably one of the best views available at a restaurant in NCR.

All the tables were lit with fire in a glass box that not just illuminated the area but also added warmth to the party. The music was peppy and set the mood for a nice evening with friends. We had a few cocktails – Old Fashioned being the best of the lot. Bitter, zesty and smoky all flavors were working individually and coming together as a whole as well. Coffee martini – a coffee and vodka based drink was also lovely. Cocktails here are not just tasty but had a definite kick that set in after a couple of drinks.

We had a few starters with our drinks – cheese cigar and fried chicken popsicles were just right with the drinks. Since it was the launch night the service started with some delay but it picked momentum later in the evening.

We wish to visit this place soon again to experience their dinner menu and to try the amazing cocktails one more time.
