Date: 13 Jan 2019
Venue: Aerocity
We have been in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil for their circus production Bazzar from their orientation sundowner in August 2018. After a successful run in Mumbai they are now in Delhi at GMR Aerocity. We managed to catch the show over the weekend and there was palpable enthusiasm in the full house.
The show combined daring acrobatics, vibrant costumes, live foot-tapping music, drama and comedy under one gigantic roof.
Incidentally the big top tent and the equipments have been brought to India from overseas exclusively for the show. Circus shows are now rare in India. But circuses were an annual ritual in our childhood years and the tent made us nostalgic.
Incidentally, Bazzar had two Indian performers doing the MallaKhamb as one of the acts during the show. This lent an additional connect to the event.
It was an enjoyable evening of course. But it was over even before it started sinking in. The less than two hour show had a half an hour intermission which we think was unreasonable. A few more wow acts would have made the show way more memorable.
However the children seem to be having a great time. We hope that cirque du Soleil is back again with even more magic to entertain us.
Meanwhile they are on till 20th Jan 2019 and you can witness the razzmatazz of Bazzar by Cirque du Soleil for yourself.
Looks like fun. I have not been to one of those performances.
Wow this was extremely informative. I feel terrible i’ve never gone but guess who will be taking the family this year?
Wow! This looks like a fun event. I have never seen one of these performances but I think this is something I would absolutely enjoy.
Interesting event. Love the post keep going
Love Cirque du Soleil. I’ve seen them perform in Beijing with my family. Mesmerizing.
I have heard so much about this show but I did not get to see it despite being in Las Vegas at the right time on two occasions. One day I might actually get to see it.
This show sounds incredible! I’d love to see it one day.
I LOVE Cirque shows. They are so incredible and I was blown away by the whole experience even before the show started. The way they have it set up really makes you forget about the real-world outside of the tent walls. So magical!
Ive been meaning to check out one of these circus acts for years now. Thanks for the great post!
This looks like an amazing show. I’ve yet to be to one but have been wanting to.
