Still and still moving: A feel good play about a relationship and Delhi Metro

still & still moving reviews delhifundos META awards

“Still and still moving” staged as part of META, explores gay relationships from a different perspective than typical “We are normal – please accept us” LGBT plays. Looks like Delhi is ready for stuff geared towards same sex relationships that are not just about acceptance but about the nuances of such relationships. The director assumes the audience is already aware and somehow accepted homosexuality and take it from there.

In foreground is a gay couple with significant age difference and in background is Delhi Metro and the funny incidents that regular passengers have to deal with on daily basis. Both the actors did a decent job and managed to make the audience feel the chemistry between them.

The play was mostly funny with (thank god) very little emotional drama. Some of the scenes were unnecessary though. The clothes shedding and making out scenes did not really add to the play and could have been avoided.

All in all a very enjoyable play and we liked it a notch better than the other META entry which is also based on gay relationships “A straight proposal”
