We can safely say that winter is here. The mornings are foggy. The evenings are windy. And the appetites have opened up like never before. Given the variety in vegetables, fruits and festivals, winter is the time to eat (read binge).
Living it to the falling leaves – the chilly air – the lovely sunshine on a Sunday morning, we spent a leisurely afternoon at the outdoor seating at K3, JW Mariott, Aerocity over a lavish meal. The indoor seating area was closer to the buffet. The glass walls ensured that the area was well illuminated with natural light. The tables were spread out and a live band sang beautiful English numbers from yester era. Need we say more? Given this perfect setting, we were in two minds but finally decided to go alfresco and sat on the tables outside.
The grill section was located here and a host of fish – pomfret, red snapper and prawns were being served, grilled to our choice. The spread had various sections. Tempting as they looked, for a change we decided to skip Indian and Chinese sections and focused on salads, cold cuts and Italian. The sheer variety in these sections stimulated our taste buds and our dishes were a riot of colours. Accompanying the staples were fabulous relishes and pickles. The salads, cold cuts and grilled fish had filled us up notwithstanding the Chardonnay, beer and juices.
However, we could not imagine not sampling the huge dessert table. puddings, cakes, chocolates, fresh fruits tarts and gelato reigned this zone. While we could only taste some of the items – we shall remember the delicious macaroons and meringues for long – we compensated by clicking as much as we could.
The sheer expanse of the Sunday Winter Brunch at K3, J W Marriott, Aerocity Delhi is mind-blowing. Be it a celebration or just gastronomic indulgence, this is a very suitable activity this season.
