Chips have been an all time favourite snack with the young and old. It has always been difficult to stop before finishing a packet. Given the popularity of chips, it is surprising that only a few companies are ruling the ever expanding market. There is very little innovation that apparently happens in this area. Given the huge demand and popularity, it is surprising that there have been very few exciting developments in the local chips market.

In this situation we came across some amazing packaging marked TERRA ADVENTURE.  This is a range of chips under the brand TERRA in the flavours Original, Mediterranean and Blues.  In addition to potatoes, the chips contain marinated vegetables and herbs. Sea salt, the latest health star, has replaced regular salt in the chips. Consequently the chips are way mild in taste. What is even more impressive is that the chips are very moderate on oil. They do not stick either in the mouth or leave us with greasy fingers.  This is definitely a huge plus for the health conscious consumer.

We were particularly surprised with the pack of Blues. The packaging bore images of blue coloured chips and we thought this is a design gimmick. However, on opening the packet, what came out were actually blue coloured chips.  Essentially the colour is more amethyst than blue. We could almost not believe our eyes at the item.  We came to know that these chips are made from blue potato, a little known variety in India. Given their colour, blue potatoes add a unique angle to the chips. In conjunction with the herbs and seasoning that have been added to the chips, this is something that is absolutely new. This is an absolute adventure for us.

It is almost the year end and the festival season has gloriously set in. We just celebrated Diwali, Christmas and New Year.  What comes hand in hand with festival is gifting. You can consider as assortment of Terra Chips packets as a present to your love one. Given the classy and subtle packet designs, not only would these make attractive gift items, but the taste would definitely impress the recipient and make you his / her best friend. Also, with festivals comes partying.

Terra Chips would make great party snacks and would be a huge hit with a wide range of beverages – chai to hard drinks.
