India Habitat Centre is also the home to the The All American Diner, perhaps the first American style food joints of Delhi. In addition to food, they have a full functional bar. If one is into burger/pancake variety of food, this is a must visit.
Very pleasant décor – the place emits good vibes. They have hung antique American food related tin and enamel plaques on the walls.
Below is an account of our latest experience.
We started with our all time favourite Sunrise Skillet (also a must try as per Zomato listing) that contains sausages, fried bacon, scrambled eggs and pancakes from their “All Day Breakfast” section. We love this anytime of the day. The pancakes are to die for, particularly in combination with the honey / strawberry and maple syrups that are served on the side.
Our next order was the Fish Fry from their meals menu. It had fried fish (possibly basa), sauté vegetable, French fries and tartar. The thick layers of fish, crunchy on the top but soft inside, melted in the mouth. The serving was however not enough for its price. Even before we could enjoy the dish fully, it was over.
We had a black coffee and cappuccino with some fancy topping at the end. It was just that – fancy!
Not done, still dreamy, we ordered a stack of pancakes to windup our joyride through one of our tastiest meals.
Good: Fresh tasty food, amazing pan cakes with maple syrup etc., lovely scrambled eggs, great fish
Bad: Long waiting time, inert staff – unless you manage to draw their attention through waving and gestures, they are illusive
sounds yummy …
