The heart wants what it wants… sometimes you would want to go fancy and would feel like having Italian, Japanese or Korean food. At other times all we want is our comfort North Indian food. The more the merrier. This is what the starter-main course-dessert buffets offer. And to satisfy such craving, one cool place is The Barbeque Company on Jail Road in West Delhi.

We went for dinner and the restaurant was full of diners. The decor was unassuming, lighting soft and the tables spread out. Hence, there was no disturbance from the party on an adjacent table. A host of vegetarian and non vegetarian starters, mostly in the nature of kebabs, were served on the table. The fire in the sigri stove embedded at table centre ensured that these items remained warm and fresh. To balance, we took salads on the side.

The large number of starters filled us up, however the dal makhni at the main course counter made our mouths water. We had this with roti and stuffed naan. There was a whole array of vegetarian dishes and a few non vegetarian items for main course. We tried some of this as well. In our opinion dal makhni was the star.

We washed the food down with beer and fruit based drinks which were very suitable for the summer evening.
Desserts section was a mixture of cakes and puddings and halwas and gulab jamun. We were full by then, still couldn’t resist some daal halwa and a dollop of ice cream.

Burping satisfactorily we were wondering what this place made it stand out from Barbeque Nation or Indian Grill room. Thinking hard we feel that…

The BBQ company doesn’t try to be different but is very regular, safe and grounded. This is a no fail place and the wide menu would ensure that there are ample options for every diner.

They also have a dedicated area for private dinners.

The fuss free clean decor, unpretentious ambiance and last but not the least great hospitality by the staff make this a very suitable restaurant for Indian dining. We say it’s a star in it’s own category. We are surely coming back to The Barbeque Company with our folks and friends.
