The Hong Kong Club is part of the luxury hotel Andaz in Aerocity New Delhi and is a venture by Hyatt hotels. This is one of the new star kid in fine dining circles. It is a sought after venue for award functions celebrity and Page 3 parties. Recently we reviewed this place on an invite for drinks and dinner.

The decor is an interplay of classical Chinese senses and contemporary design. No wonder it creates the drama that is true to Hong Kong city where tradition and modernity co-exist hand in hand. In fact, the restaurant’s USP is their Chinese zodiac based cocktails. We thought this was a very quirky, interesting and amusing twist that relaxes any stuck up impression associated with this place.

One of us is a horse as per the Chinese Zodiac (Mr. Bhatia of course, the other one is more like a sloth) and the appropriate cocktail was listed as Chariot ( Apple & Clove Liquor with Champagne) in their bar menu. The cocktail not just looked smashing but was very well made and extremely potent. Presented with hay on top of the glass that was set to fire and blown away to create smokiness and effect, this was one of the finest cocktails we have had recently. We also tried a few more based on other zodiacs and liked them immensely.

The Hong Kong Club is not just a place for amazing cocktails but also an apt place for luxury dining. Given that Cantonese culture prevails among the Chinese in Hong Kong, the cuisine here is Cantonese. Amazing salads, dimsums, Peking duck with perfect crispy skin and soups, this club jumped higher from one level to another with every dish they served. Tarts with orange filling and peppery lemon sorbet and poppy seeds are some of the desserts that defined good life.

Given the opulence, balanced with a character of earthiness, we now see why this place has made it to the upper crust of the hospitality sector. Not only celebrity events, we believe we are all celebrities in our own right. Hence, The Hong Kong Club at Hotel Andaz is a perfect place for drinks and luxury dining when you are in a mood to indulge.
