We avoid having rolls on regular basis for two reasons. One, they are not known to be very healthy and two because its invariably spicy, no matter which place you try in Delhi .
We glanced upon The Rolling Joint one evening while hanging out in CP. The place looked different, clean and contemporary. We hadn’t had rolls in quite some time and we decided to give it a whirl.
It’s a small joint essentially catering to take away services. They don’t have a dining area but for a few chairs they have out in open.
We ordered Greek Chicken Roll which tasted nice. It was fresh, well cooked and slightly sweet in taste. We felt we had just discovered a place that made tasty chicken rolls without mouth burning mirchi. But the moment we took a bite of the rumali chicken roll, we realized that we had spoken too soon. It was so freaking spicy… it can make you run for the river.
It’s fruitless to comment on the other ingredients or taste when all you can feel in your mouth is mirchi. The spices numbed our taste buds.
And this was after we confirmed with them and they had said both the rolls are non spicy.
We left this place hungry and hugely disappointed.
