Tom Uncle’s Maggi Point is a known name among college goers in Delhi University. The humble Maggi has been reinvented and mixed with several other items at Tome Uncle’s to create a new version altogether. Its been years that we left college and rarely do we pass through this area. Recently while we were around DU, we made it a point to see what the hoopla is all about.

Its a small stall in the university area where they serve Maggi, pasta, shakes and tea coffee etc. The mile high menu reminded us of Rahul Egg Corner where they serve more than 300 varieties of egg preparations. We went through the menu and decided on trying a Paneer Masala Maggi to start with.

It took them about 20 minutes to serve our order. Our paneer masala maggi was loaded with their own masala along with Maggi masala and bits of paneer in it. Maggi yes, masala yes, paneer yes but taste… nada! It looked like a home experiment that went totally wrong. The Maggi with all this black colored masala looked aweful and tasted unappetizing.

We didn’t feel like ordering anything else and realised Tome Uncle’s Maggi Point is more of a fad. It may work with kids from college and hostels who are looking for easy ways out and some variety in their favourite instant food but for us… no, a big no.
