We were recently at Triveni Kala Sangam for tea at Triveni Terrace Cafe.  On the way out, a painting exhibition caught our attention.  This was a display of works by Santosh Kumar Sahni. His collection “Water Life” was canvases in black and white and shades of gray.

The works mostly had a central figure, mostly female with other elements around this. The paintings were quite and the subtlety won our heart. While the focus figures were prominent, the effort in detailing and developing the other elements – like the fish – exuded the sincerity of the artist.  This was a hot summer afternoon and the canvases soothed our eyes.
