Enchanté, a French word, means “Nice to meet you”. Apparently that’s how this French patisserie at Khan Market got its name their café “Enchanté”. Located beside Axis Bank, at the rear side of Khan Market, this cozy café drew our attention last Sunday evening when we were in a decadent mood. Launched by Academy of Pastry Arts India, Enchanté is a pastry shop with some seating arrangements.
It seemed like a busy evening here with dine-in as well as take away customers. We took a look at the glass show case that was filled with macaroons, cakes, biscottis as well as savouries such as quiche and croissant. Like all things French, every item looked stunning – a photographer’s delight. But when we tasted their coffee – latte and cappuccino, with biscotti and rose macaroons, we realized that the taste matched the looks. That was the beginning of our longish evening here. We got tempted and wanted to try their savouries. The spinach quiche and the ham and cheese quiche were smooth with melt in the mouth texture.
Among desserts we tried the éclair which was creamy and moist. The hero was the white chocolate ball pastry with perhaps raspberry extract inside. There was edible silver shimmer coated on this item. This item was mild in sweetness yet greatly satisfying for dessert craving. Every ingredient seemed to be of great quality and worth every calorie we consumed. In fact, we also wanted to try the tiramisu but was bursting from seams so had to give this a miss.
Incidentally, we saw some dinners dining here, checking out and leaving and then coming back within 15 minutes for a second round. Perhaps that is the best certificate a food place can get. In our turn, we are going back to Enchanté soon for theyummy looking tiramisu that we forwent the other evening.
