Weekend Brunch at The Pavillion – ITC Maurya

Dec 20, 2016 | Art, Eating out, Food

Venue:
ITC Maurya, Chanakyapuri
Date: 10 December 2016

ITC Maurya has included new items in their ala cart menu. They recently invited us to a tasting session lunch. The curated menu included soup, starters, selection of Delhi street food, our very own naan butter chicken combo and desserts. We thought the street food was a little flat and the strong smell of ghee was getting in the way. But everything else is a hit. We were floored by the taste and presentation of all the dishes particularly shrimp cocktail, chicken katsu burger and the desserts chocolate fudge and milk chocolate parfait. In fact we had thought we had seen it all in butter chicken till we tasted the rich but subtle preparation here. The service was a bit slow but it was worth the wait.

We also tried some of their cakes and macaroons from their regular five star buffet  that was on simultaneously. The jasmine tea chocolate mousse floored us. The soft smell of jasmine under a chocolate coating is an unlikely but heady combo. The dessert chef here receives a huge applause.

We are also going to include this review in our art section. The lobby had Hussain’s paintings everywhere. In fact the ceiling was completely covered with beautiful church like paintings which we were surprised to know were also by Hussain. So if you are an art fan, this is an open gallery that you must visit.

We concluded our visit by buying some chocolates from Fabelle  – their chocolate boutique.
