Guess how do we decide which movie theatre to visit for a movie? Their popcorn of course. Precisely their caramel popcorn. Needless to say we take our popcorn very seriously. 4700BC takes it up from here. A product of PVR, It is perhaps the first gourmet popcorn brand in India and has blown us over.

What is so special about their gourmet popcorn? In gourmet popcorn, our regular popcorn is popped with other ingredients to make it even tastier. A host of flavours such as chocolate, caramel, sea salt, cheese mix and so on are tried out in labs and the shapes of the popcorns are different too. They are like small balls that easily pop and roll in the mouth.

4700BC has outlets at candy bars of PVR cinemas and we were recently invited to a film screening at PVR Director’s Cut, Vasant Kunj, over their products. In addition to sushi from Simply Sushi  we got to taste a variety of flavoured popcorns from 4700BC over some jazz music. The first look of the popcorn excited us. These were mildly coloured in cream, pink, green or chocolate and looked great when kept together. The smart looking packaging, be it bags or well designed tins, make these items very gift worthy.

The popcorns were mildly flavoured from the conventional butter / cheese to caramel to exotic guava or strawberry. There were chocolate topped caramels too. As a result, there was no monotony. The flip side is that we could not stop popping one popcorn after the other. While we were served wine at the event, these popcorns make great snacks with beverage such as coffee and tea. We were gifted some popcorn to take home and that is how everyone is liking it.

Gourmet popcorn is an American thing. We are so glad that 4700BC got this amazing twist to our age old popcorn in India. To summarise – either for self consumption, 4700BC popcorn is a Fun-Do snack option.
