Dilli ki Diwali by the Delhi Government was a community celebration of Diwali, at Connaught Place. The aim was to promote a pollution free Diwali in Delhi. Like all Diwali Mela in Delhi, the event had food, shopping and music. The star attraction was the mega laser show at CP which was expected to set the Diwali skies ablaze without harmful smoke.
It’s like stating the obvious. We have been regulars at Wenger’s Connaught Place since about 8 years now. And yet surprisingly we have never written about it. While Wenger’s doesn’t need any introduction, yet here is our two bits worth.
Oh My God in Connaught Place is one among many restaurants in this area. Given that every other restaurant here is non distinguishable from each other, it is tough competition for them. They should be at the top of their act to make a name for themselves. We recently visited Oh My God to experience this place.
We recently dined at immensely popular Farzi Cafe’s CP outlet. We tried quite a few things and noticed that the focus is mainly on presentation and gimmick rather than the taste. We are all for plating and the drama but in Farzi’s case it was an overkill. At the end of the day the proof is in the taste. We felt their dishes had a lot of oomph but not enough substance. Wagh Bakri has started another Tea Lounge at Outer Circle, Connaught Place. The outlet is spread on two floors and has modern interiors. Tea, as usual, is great here. CP doesn’t have too many tea options (barring Cha Bar and tea stalls on Shankar Road). Thus, this is a most welcome addition in this zone. We look forward to many more outlets in NCR.
