Bollywood is not Bollywood anymore. Breaking the norm is the new norm. Entertainers are not expected to have heroes chasing heroines, cops chasing villains, or the music director chasing the choreographers.
After the heavy-duty “The Ship of Theseus” we are pleasantly surprised to see a new trend being continued in a simple and diametrically opposite in genre comedy “Bajate Raho”.
Dolly Ahluwalia the quintessential Punjabi mother full of gusto, she along with her son Tusshar Kapoor and his friends, Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey tries to avenge her husband’s death by taking on Ravi Kissen. A simple storyline and a very reasonable duration of less than two hours makes this film a perfect Saturday evening watch.
The film has its obvious drawbacks like Tusshar Kapoor, very little scope for immensely talented Vinay Pathak, and disconnects in the plot. Nonetheless, the film deserves a watch for being a family entertainer, Ranvir Shorey, and Dolly Ahluwalia’s acting.
Good movie. I liked it.
Thanks Sachin. We liked it too.
