Cafe Meets Restaurant at Zorambo – A Caftaurant in Gurugram

Venue:
Golf Course Road, Gurgaon

What happens when you combine “Café” and “Restaurant”? Apparently it is a “Caftaurant” – Zorambo on Golf Course Road, Gurgaon. We recently attended the launch of Zorambo and surveyed it firsthand. They have married street food kind of food from cafes and wide list of beverages commonly available at restaurants and have developed the “Caftaurant” – a portmanteau word derived from “café” and “restaurant”. To aid the professional sector in Gurgaon, they have a co-working space concept where any diner can plug in and attend to work over food and beverage.

Talking of food, we simply loved what we had. The chicken sandwich was filling and the Keema Samosa was tasty. It reminded us of the Kolkata street food – genre. In desserts we tried lemon tart, chocolate tart and caramel tart. The last two varieties are worth every calorie and a sweet-lover’s delight. Among beverages we went basic and tried their cappuccino. No complaints on this too.

The café, though in two stories is not too big so space could be a problem. More so, that could be an issue in terms of co-working space concept. That said, it is a pleasant place to hang around over FnB on the uppity Golf Course Road. Three outlets are already open in Gurugram- Central Plaza in Golf Course Road, D Block Shopping Plaza in South City 2 and JMD Megapolis in Sohna Road. So if you are in Gurgaon, a Zorambo Caftaurant can’t be far.

Coming back to the event, the populist author Chetan Bhagat attended Zorambo launch. Our bad, we could not make him comment on the current elections or the rise of social media in today’s day and age. We did click some nice pictures with him though.

Here is thanking Zorambo for a seamless afternoon and we wish them the very best.
