Jim Corbett National Park is one of those holiday spots in the country that is popular as a summer vacation destination from Delhi. It is an all season tourist spot in India and no wonder there are a host of hotels and resorts trying to cash in. We tried to spot some unique living arrangements here and to this end, our last summer break was at Golden Tusk, Ramnagar. It lies at the periphery of the National Park and, in addition to the understated luxury, springs surprises.
Have you heard of Mitawali? It is said that the Indian Parliament House has been designed in line with the Shiva temple here. Mitawali is in Madhya Pradesh and we were in a mood to do an offbeat road trip from Delhi. Although MP is close, we weren’t sure if we could locate Mitawali.

We were clueless about Nathdwara till we visited Udaipur. After doing the local museums, Kumbhalgarh Fort and Bagor ki Haveli and other things to do in Udaipur we saw boards to Nathdwara . On asking around we came to know there is a Krishna temple there and could be covered in a biking trip. But we were skeptical whether it would be worth the effort.
Fagu is a hill station in Himachal Pradesh, about an hour’s drive from Shimla. In fact, it is one of the few hill stations that is under 7 hours drive from Delhi. We have been here a few times during monsoon and winter and it could be a great choice for a quick summer vacation as well. What brings us here again and again?
