Cha Bar – Cafe In A Book Store

Venue: Cha Bar, Outer Circle CP

Just like monsoons are incomplete without tea, our hangouts in CP are incomplete without a visit to Cha-bar. Cha Bar (Outer Circle, N Block, Connaught Place) – the revamped tea joint with Oxford book store provides an awesome “chill-eat-talk and grab-a-bite” experience to nerds, yuppies, and the rest.

Monsoon decoration at Oxford Book Store and Cha-Bar

A perfect “blend” of erudition and spunk Cha-Bar has a contemporary and classy decor. We love the white walls, marble table tops and the lamps on ceiling. As you enter, don’t miss the huge panel made with glow signs on right.
Cha Bar serves a variety of tea, coffee and snacks. We ordered a Cha-Bar blend –tea and English tea cake. We the teaholics anonymous can certify Cha Bar blend as probably the best tea experience in Delhi. This is an aromatic decoction that comes in a teapot and the quantity is enough to make two cups of tea. Cake was equally great and sets our mood to talk more and order more.

“Love thy neighbor’s platter” – I don’t know if it’s with us or it’s a human tendency, we invariably find food on next table more attractive and sumptuous. After enquiring the waiter what the guys on next table have ordered we also ordered a Chicken Panini with hummus and a Tuna sandwich. Panini tasted great and hummus was extra fresh.

Tuna sandwiches were equally good and of course like everything else here, a value for money (They serve 4 sandwiches per plate with reasonable amount of French fries).

We saved the best for last. No visit to Cha bar is complete without ordering “fish and chips”. This little piece of heaven comprises slivers of Basa fish, coated with bread crumbs and cooked to perfection. Served with French fries and tartar, every bite of “Fish and chips” is divine.

Special mention – the restroom with mosaic tiled walls in psychedelic colors looks beautiful like rest of the place. Last but not least, the staff wears smart black uniform and a smile!
We are very excited to discover this oasis amidst the unending list of eateries in CP.

Unpretentious, affordable, and very Chai Garam!!
