Dolma House at Majnu Ka Tilla

Dec 17, 2018 | Eating out, Food

Date: Dec 09 2018
Venue: Majnu Ka Tilla, North Delhi

Dolma House at Majnu Ka Tila is a rather serene food place in this otherwise busy area. It is adjacent to the shops on the foot path. It looked peaceful from outside and we wanted a meal with the Tibetan touch. With this end in mind, we reached Dolma House.

Getting seated beside the French window we could see the busy crowd shopping in the clothes market at MKT. The waiters here are virtually silent. They passed us the menu and waited silently. We ordered a chicken clear soup, steamed momos chicken again and pancakes. But they were out of pancakes so we replaced that with tea.

The lemon chicken soup was very refreshing. It was thick but didn’t kill the appetite. There was decent serving of chicken chunks thrown in. The momos were quite up to the mark. Not Mama’s Kitchen or Tiretti Bazar yum but still close. There was adequate stuffing in the momos. These would have been perfect if the momo shells were little thinner. The closing tea was brewed optimally and was made with just the right quantity of milk. We had these with mildly sweetened, somewhat hard bread which we are told is the Tibetan donut. It was a light meal yet extremely satisfying.

We are extremely happy that we dined at Dolma House, a cool, fuss free food experience at Majnu ka Tilla.
