Gieve Patel, a celebrated cornerstone of the Indian art community, is remembered for his passionate exploration of the human condition, reflecting themes of vulnerability, mortality, and the interplay between figuration and abstraction. This exhibition brings together artists who shared a deep connection with Patel or were influenced by his artistic sensibilities, honoring his enduring legacy.
Curator Ranjit Hoskote highlights that the title A Show of Hands represents both unity and collaboration, making it a perfect tribute to Gieve Patel’s rich artistic and intellectual legacy.
