Artspeaks India-Shruti Gupta Chandra Solo Exhibition

Where does the mind stop and the world begin, a solo exhibition of recent paintings by Shruti Gupta Chandra, opening on Tuesday, 17 March 2026 at 5:00 PM at Sridharani Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi. The exhibition, with curatorial advisory support from Ashwini Pai Bahadur, will remain on view until 24 March 2026.
This new body of abstract work marks a significant transition in Shruti’s practice—from earlier figurative explorations to a fully intuitive and immersive abstraction. Anchored by an essay from art historian Lina Vincent, the exhibition reflects on the philosophical and spiritual dimensions of her process. Working across acrylic, oil, watercolour, pastel, collage, and mixed media, Shruti creates luminous compositions where gesture, repetition, and movement evoke cycles of becoming and dissolution. Her four-decade engagement with both visual art and Kathak dance informs a dynamic dialogue between rhythm and mark-making.
Where does the mind stop and the world begin offers viewers an encounter with an artist in transformative motion—mapping inner landscapes that feel at once intimate and expansive.
