Get ready for a delightful experience at the Bengal Mango Mela & Handloom-Handicraft Expo 2024, taking place at Handloom Haat, Janpath, New Delhi, until June 30. This annual event, inaugurated by Mrs. Ujjaini Datta, showcases over 40,000 kgs of diverse mango varieties from West Bengal, including the famed Himsagar and Laxmanbhog. Alongside the mangoes, explore exquisite handloom and handicraft items, and enjoy live art, cultural performances, and a variety of delicious mango-based treats. Don’t miss this vibrant celebration of Bengal’s rich cultural heritage and agricultural bounty.
The cultural festivities kick off on June 23 at 6:30 PM with a duet vocal performance by Moumita Kundu and Rajarshi Debray, followed by the energetic ‘Raibeshe’ dance by The Bengali Folk Martial Dance group. On the grand finale day, June 30, the Shinjan Dance Academy will present a captivating dance recital, culminating in a fusion performance by The Bengali Fusion Band titled ‘Hamelin’.
