24 September 2025, New Delhi: The British Council, the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, announces the return of its annual reading engagement initiative, the Reading Challenge 2025, at the British Council Library in Delhi.
Running from 26 October to 23 November 2025, this year’s theme, “Story Garden,” invites children aged 5 to 12 years to explore a world where stories bloom like flowers, fostering imagination, creativity, kindness, and critical thinking.
Aligned with the UK Reading Agency’s booklist, the specially curated collection features engaging books for two groups – younger readers (5–8 years) and older readers (9–12 years). Participants will read four books in four weeks, borrow one book at a time, and take part in two interactive engagement sessions. Activities include story-based role play, creative writing, book reviews, group discussions, and crafts inspired by the story themes.
On successful completion, each participant will receive a certificate and medal in recognition of their achievement.
