Children’s Theatre Festival by NSD and Delhi Tourism

A one-month-long intensive “Summer Theatre Workshop for children” is organized in May – June every year. The workshop aims at the social integration of children from various backgrounds to sensitize them towards themselves and their surroundings though theatre activities in a play way method. The workshop is divided into 4 weeks, during which we explore Self, Family, Education, and Society. This annual feature started with one centre at NSD and now its number has increased up to 8 centers located at various Schools of Delhi. 15 to 24 groups of 8 to 16 years of age are admitted every year. Each group consists of 30 children. Parents are also invited to participate in a special parent’s session during the workshop. The workshop culminates with a participatory event consisting of various themes, activities, and works – processes already explored by children during the workshop. Each year the demand for opening new centre is increasing.
