The Festival of Ideas 2025 is the reimagined edition of La Nuit des Idées — a global French cultural initiative celebrated across cities like Tokyo, Toronto, San Francisco, and Sydney.
This year’s theme, “We Are the Ocean”, highlights the urgent need to understand and protect our oceans as a cornerstone of a sustainable and resilient future. Join us as we dive into the ocean’s stories through a range of immersive and interactive experiences:

A Global Movement for Ocean Sustainability
In support of the UN Decade of Ocean Science (2021–2030) and ahead of the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) in June 2025, this festival echoes the France–India Roadmap on Blue Economy and Ocean Governance — a joint effort toward SDG 14 (Life Below Water).
By participating, you’re contributing to global ocean awareness and climate action, just like the momentum created by the Paris Climate Agreement in 2015.
