Games People Play 02

This October, Ashvita’s presents Games People Play 02 by the acclaimed artist duo Thukral and Tagra at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, from October 7 to 16, 2025. Marking 20 years of their studio practice, the exhibition challenges how audiences experience, question, and participate in art.

Unlike traditional exhibitions, Games People Play 02 unfolds as an interactive “playtest” in exhibition-making. Spanning ten days, it features ten works, each introducing a distinct emotional or mental state such as vulnerability, belief, resilience, or hope. The gallery transforms into a living gameboard, where audiences actively participate, negotiate, and reflect alongside the evolving artworks.

• Assets and Liabilities: A powerful installation where demonetised Indian currency is reimagined as a table-tennis table, symbolising disrupted economies, resilience, and shared memory.
• Playful as Political: Familiar objects take on uncanny and layered meanings, transforming play into commentary on contemporary society and survival strategies.

About the Artists

Jiten Thukral and Sumir Tagra have built a globally recognized practice over the past two decades, blending art, design, and storytelling. Their works break boundaries, making art an engaging dialogue about identity, politics, culture, and collective experience.
