IIC Double Bill: Andhra Natyam & Mohiniyattam Dance Recitals
Experience two beautiful Indian classical dance traditions in a single evening at the India International Centre (IIC) as part of its Double Bill: Dance Recitals series.
The evening begins with an Andhra Natyam recital by Madhuri Surendra from Bengaluru, a disciple of Acharya Kala Krishna. Accompanied by accomplished musicians, the performance showcases one of Andhra Pradesh’s oldest classical dance forms, known for its graceful movements, expressive storytelling, and rich cultural heritage.
This is followed by a Mohiniyattam recital by Bhadra Rajeev from Thrissur, Kerala, a disciple of Sri Kalamandalam C. Gopalakrishnan. Characterised by gentle, flowing movements and expressive abhinaya, Mohiniyattam is one of Kerala’s most elegant classical dance forms and offers a captivating conclusion to the evening.
