IIC Vasant Utsav: A Festival of Folk Arts in Delhi

Delhi’s cultural calendar is welcoming spring with a colourful evening of music and dance. Vasant Utsav – A Festival of Folk Arts brings together traditional folk performances that celebrate the stories, rhythms and spirit of Punjab. The evening highlights “Basant in the Land of Five Rivers: Dance and Songs from Punjab.” Artists from the Universal Art and Culture Welfare Society will present lively folk dance forms such as Jundua, Gidha and Bhangra, capturing the joy and energy of Punjabi culture. Along with dance performances, visitors will also experience soulful folk singing by Garry Gill and Sukhbeer Pal Kaur. The festival also includes exhibitions and demonstrations that showcase the richness of traditional folk arts in a contemporary setting. Set against the green open space of the lawns at India International Centre, the event promises a relaxed cultural evening where Delhiites can enjoy music, dance and art under the spring sky.
