Inward – An Art Exhibition by Harpreet Narula
Renowned couturier Harpreet Narula makes his solo debut as a contemporary artist with Inward, an exhibition that marks a new chapter in his creative journey. Curated by Vikram Singh, the exhibition showcases a striking body of abstract paintings that draw upon Narula’s decades-long engagement with textiles, craftsmanship, and design.
Rather than moving away from his fashion practice, Inward reveals how the visual language of fabrics, weaving, vernacular architecture, and cultural memory has quietly informed his artistic expression over the years. Inspired by the frescoes of Shekhawati, the painted havelis of Rajasthan and Punjab, and the rhythmic structure of the loom, the works are built through thousands of meticulously repeated marks.
The exhibition explores repetition as a meditative process, transforming memory, material, and place into layered abstract compositions. It offers visitors an opportunity to experience Harpreet Narula’s artistic vision beyond the world of couture, while reflecting on the enduring relationship between textile traditions and contemporary art.
