The Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) proudly presents the second edition of the Legacy Series: Murad Ali Khan, celebrating the timeless tradition of sarangi music. This unique event will feature:
- Murad Ali Khan, a sixth-generation maestro of the Moradabad gharana.
- Saurang Parampara Ensemble, showcasing the next generation of sarangi players trained under his tutelage.
- A dialogue with renowned tabla virtuoso and musicologist Aneesh Pradhan, enriching the performance with insightful narratives.
About Murad Ali Khan
Hailing from a lineage of legendary sarangi players, Murad Ali Khan carries forward the musical heritage of his forefathers, tracing back to the 18th century. Trained by his grandfather, Ustad Siddique Ahmad Khan, and father, Ustad Ghulam Sabir Khan, Murad Ali has become one of the most prominent sarangi players of his generation. He continues to mentor young musicians, ensuring the continuity of this exquisite art form.
