Meghalaya’s pineapples are all set to be showcased in New Delhi with the 3-Day ‘Pineapple Fest 2023’ Fest is set to kick off with a cultural programme on Friday followed by various events over the next three days.
The sweetest pineapples from Meghalaya are currently on display at Abu Dhabi’s Al-Wahda Mall. These pineapples are being marketed into the Gulf markets. Pineapples are grown by local communities in the state in a traditional manner; these are mostly organic. The Meghalaya pineapples have very low pesticide and heavy metal residue compared to pineapples from mainland India, the officials pointed out, adding that with regard to taste, they are less sour and significantly sweeter.
