The Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA), in collaboration with the Embassy of Finland, presents “Moomin 80 – The Door is Always Open”, the first-ever Moomin exhibition in India.
This immersive and interactive presentation celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Moomins, beloved characters created by Finnish artist and author Tove Jansson. Since 1945, the Moomins have symbolized hope, friendship, inclusivity, and resilience, with stories translated into more than 60 languages worldwide.
At KNMA’s Interactive Terrain (IT), visitors will explore Moominvalley through child-friendly spaces, storytelling sessions, dramatic readings, creative workshops, and cultural talks. The exhibition also highlights Jansson’s life and legacy as an artist, writer, and pioneer of inclusive storytelling.
Reflecting Finland’s values of equality, trust, and closeness to nature, the Moomin universe connects generations and cultures. This exhibition invites families, children, and art lovers alike to step into a world where “the door is always open.”
