In continuation of the ongoing Music in The Park 2024 series – SPIC MACAY, SRF Limited, and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) bring you the second event of the series on 9th March 2024 from 5:30 p.m. onwards at Nehru, Park Chanakyapuri. This edition of Music in the Park of SPIC MACAY presents some of the greatest living legends of Indian classical music amidst full Tulip Bloom.
The evening will start with a Hindustani vocal recital by Omkar Dadarkar accompanied by Vinay Mishra on Harmonium and Durjay Bhaumik on Tabla. This concert will be followed by a taalvadaya recital by Bickram Ghosh who will be accompanied by S. Sekhar on
Mridangam, V. Suresh on Ghatam and Sanatan Goswami on Harmonium. Last but not least the music lovers of Delhi will witness sublime music presented by three generations of the esteemed Dr. N Rajam family. Dr. N Rajam will render divine music through
Hindustani Violin and she will be accompanied by her daughter Sangeeta Shankar and granddaughters Nandini and Ragini Shankar. Abhishek Mishra will accompany them on tabla.
Music In the Park is a community outreach initiative by SPIC MACAY to connect with a large section of society and inspire them with the beauty of Indian Classical Music by inviting great custodians of our heritage in harmony with nature. The Tulip Bloom at Nehru Park adds to the beauty of the ambiance of the concert. Music lovers will be pleased to be present in the beautiful and serene environment.
SPIC MACAY- Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst Youth is a voluntary youth movement that promotes the tangible & intangible aspects of Indian & world heritage by organizing programs and workshops of Indian Classical Music, Classical dance, folk music, folk dance, yog, meditation, crafts, and other aspects of Indian culture. It is a movement started in 1977 and has chapters in over 850 towns across the world. The core purpose of SPICMACAY is to have every child experience the inspiration and mysticism embodied in Indian and World heritage.
